Manual, line-by-line review of your codebase for the flaws automated scanners miss.
Secure code review is a manual, expert examination of your application's source code to find security flaws, logic errors, insecure patterns, and dangerous dependencies, that static analysis tools flag but can't actually judge the real-world exploitability of.
Static analysis (SAST) tools are useful, but they generate volume, not judgment, a long list of possible issues with no sense of which ones are actually exploitable in your application's context. Our reviewers read the code the way an attacker would use it, tracing data flow across trust boundaries rather than pattern-matching on syntax.
Reviews cover authentication and session logic, access control enforcement, cryptography usage, injection classes, and the third-party dependencies your application actually relies on, with every finding backed by a concrete exploitation path, not a generic rule match.
A flaw caught in review is a code change. The same flaw caught after release is an incident, triage, a hotfix under pressure, and possibly customer notification. Review is consistently the cheaper point in the lifecycle to catch it.
For teams selling into enterprise customers, a documented secure code review is often something security questionnaires and procurement teams explicitly ask for, turning this from an internal QA step into something that helps close deals.

From finding to fix
A scanner flags it, a senior reviewer confirms it's actually exploitable, the fix lands as a real diff, and the commit merges clean. Click through the stages, or let it play.

Process
Agree on codebase scope, languages/frameworks, and access needed.
Run SAST/dependency scanning to triage and focus manual effort.
Senior reviewers trace data flow and logic by hand, not just tool output.
Confirm real-world exploitability for every finding raised.
Deliver findings with code references, severity, and concrete fixes.
Verify fixes actually close the gap once implemented.
A penetration test attacks the running application from the outside. Code review reads the source directly, which surfaces different issues, logic flaws and insecure patterns that aren't always reachable or visible through black-box testing alone. Many teams use both together.
Our reviewers work across the common modern web stacks, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, C#, and PHP among others. Tell us your stack when scoping and we'll confirm fit before starting.
Yes, where it's part of the codebase in scope, misconfigured IaC is a real source of production security gaps, and reviewing it alongside application code catches issues a separate cloud-only review might miss.
SAST tools flag pattern matches at volume with no judgment about real-world exploitability. Our reviewers trace the actual data flow by hand to confirm whether a flagged pattern is genuinely reachable and exploitable in your application's specific context, every finding we report has that reasoning attached.
Yes, most of our code review engagements are on existing codebases we didn't write. We don't need historical context to assess current security posture, though a walkthrough of the architecture speeds up scoping.
Our methodology for secure code review is grounded in established, publicly available frameworks, not a proprietary checklist.
Share a few details about your environment and we'll help you scope the right engagement.
