President Trump has announced that Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton and Federal Trade Commission Chair Andrew Ferguson, along with senior Pentagon and personnel officials, will lead the Super Intelligence Force as a federal policy coordinating body and report back with proposed actions.
Summary
Trump’s Oct. 4 “SI Force” statement underlines issues such as critical infrastructure security as well as consumer protections and singles out the FTC, the Defense Department and the Office of Personnel Management as leading players in crafting policy in the coming months. “I am announcing the formation of the Super Intelligence Force (SIF).
The Super Intelligence Force is tasked with coordinating the effort of the Federal Government to ensure that America continues to lead the World in Super Intelligence, which many say is bigger than the Industrial Revolution, and the Internet, and will protect the interests, and improve the lives, of all Americans,” according to an Oct. 4 X post by the White House. Trump signed an executive order on Sept.
29 to change the government’s terminology for “artificial intelligence” to “super intelligence.” Trump initially floated the idea of creating an AI Force in a Sept. 14 social media post, which was light on implementation details but led some stakeholders in the cybersecurity community to see an opportunity for the creation of a long-debated Cyber Force to become a reality. When asked about the creation of an AI Force at an Oct.
1 event , National Cyber Director Sean Cairncross said, “There is a tremendous amount of collaboration in this space, and we are finding new ways to deploy these systems on the defensive side. We're finding new ways to support them in efforts to impose costs on adversaries and I think that will continue.” The unreleased charter for the task force says it will report to Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles within 120 days, according to reports . Trump earlier Sunday spelled out more details in a post on his Truth Social page: Following the Historic White House Accord on Super Intelligence, where the World's most important Technology Companies came together, and confirmed their responsibilities to the American People, I am announcing the formation of the Super Intelligence Force (SIF).
The Super Intelligence Force is tasked with coordinating the effort of the Federal Government to ensure that America continues to lead the World in Super Intelligence, which many say is bigger than the Industrial Revolution, and the Internet, and will protect the interests, and improve the lives, of all Americans. The Super Intelligence Force will coordinate the Federal Government's engagement with Consumers, Public Interest Groups, Religious Organizations, Critical Infrastructure Providers, and Super Intelligence Companies, and will be led by Director of National Intelligence, Jay Clayton, Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission, Andrew Ferguson, Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering, and Chief Technology Officer, Emil Michael, and Director of the Office of Personnel Management, Scott Kupor, and will report to the President of the United States (ME!), and the Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles. Clayton, according to news reports, is in line to be named the president’s next AI czar but there has been no announcement on that.
Michael from the Pentagon posted on X, “It is my great honor to serve on President Trump’s Super Intelligence Force (SIF). At the @DeptofWar we have seen what is possible when red tape is removed and America’s best technology is rapidly put into action. Working alongside America’s leading technology companies, we are putting the most advanced SI capabilities into the hands of our warfighters at speed and scale.
I look forward to serving alongside DNI Jay Clayton, @AFergusonFTC and @skupor to secure America’s leadership in Super Intelligence and ensure this transformative technology directly serves all Americans.” The “ White House Accord on Super Intelligence ” was signed Sept. 29 by Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, OpenAI president Greg Brockman, SpaceXAI CEO Elon Musk and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. It committed the companies to partnering with external evaluators to assess the implementation of monitoring and other controls for safely developing the technology.
KazaSec's take
AI-related security incidents are a genuinely new category, prompt injection, model manipulation, and data leakage through an LLM integration don't map cleanly onto traditional application security testing, and are worth assessing deliberately rather than assuming existing controls already cover them.
