Pulwama, Nov 7: Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Kuldeep Krishan Sidha, on Saturday directed the launch of structured awareness programmes across colleges in the district to educate students about financial literacy, cyber security and banking-related career opportunities.
Summary
Chairing a financial literacy programme organised in collaboration with ICICI Bank at the District Administrative Complex, the DC called for day-wise sessions in all colleges from next week. The programme focused on safe banking practices, digital and financial frauds and awareness about the bank's Probationary Officer (PO) Programme. Sidha asked ICICI Bank representatives to prepare an informative pamphlet detailing the programme, including eligibility criteria, available opportunities and application procedures, for circulation among students.
He also directed the Chief Education Officer to facilitate similar programmes in educational institutions in coordination with Zonal Education Officers. The DC stressed sustained institutional engagement to equip students with financial knowledge, cyber safety awareness and skills relevant to emerging career opportunities. The programme was attended by Chief Planning Officer Aashiq Khanday, principals and representatives of degree colleges, Chief Education Officer and ICICI Bank representatives.
