Summary
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary of the Electronics and IT Ministry S. Krishnan said the public release of these foundational AI models marks an important step towards building a strong and strategic AI ecosystem in the country. He said that these models have several potential applications, including cybersecurity and can significantly enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
Emphasising their importance, Mr Krishnan noted that these models can also be deployed in air-gapped environments, opening new possibilities for secure and enterprise – based Artificial Intelligence applications in the country.
KazaSec's take
AI-related security incidents are a genuinely new category, prompt injection, model manipulation, and data leakage through an LLM integration don't map cleanly onto traditional application security testing, and are worth assessing deliberately rather than assuming existing controls already cover them.
